OnCue - Can’t Wait [Mixtape]

I generally think people overrate mixtapes but I think Can’t Wait is going to get underrated. People have already started writing OnCue off has frat rap or college rap. Listen to his lyrics though, the beats don’t hurt either. He’s got a fresh sound that I think is on to something. If you like Mac Miller give this a spin. Try out “Running” first.

Los Campesinos! - “By Your Hand”

Los Campesinos! dropped their fourth album Hello Sadness yesterday. Wry humor and self-deprecation galore. The albums main themes are of death and despair but somehow the sound of the tracks make that inner flannel-and-glasses loving hipster within want to crack open a beer and bob. Don’t believe me?

Jhameel - “White Lie”

Heyyyy Pop music. This song is just a good old catchy pop song. Jam on it. Download it. I’m sure you’ll be singing it under your breath in the kitchen doing dishes in a few days.

White Lie by jhameel

This is installment three to the Roots upcoming concept album undun. The three videos they have put up so far “Make My” and “Tip The Scale” all show the slow progression of fictional character, Redford Stephens, from a “thoughtful young kid into a criminal”. So far the new album sounds like another great one from the Roots; undun drops Dec. 8th.

Kingdom - “Let You No”

I’m not sure how I feel about this song but all the music blogs are naming it Fire. It’s got an M83 vibe in some of the synth but it also feels like one big sample to me at times. Check it out, let me know what you think. I mean, who am I to keep music from the masses?

I’ve been trying, for a while now, to pinpoint exactly what it is that I love so much about this producer, because claims like that are always hard to substantiate. Read on for a long, personal and rambling explanation. Or, just let the music speak for itself. “Let You No” is off of Kingdom’s upcoming Dreama EP is out next Monday on the indomitable London dance label Night Slugs, and word on the street is it’s going to rule. And by word on the street I mean me, telling you. It’s going to rule. The Faderon the premiere.

The Black Keys - “Run Right Back”

thanks to BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, we get our first listen to another tune off The Black Key’s upcoming album El Camino, entitled “Run Right Back.” The Black Keys will release a “Lonely Boy” single which includes “Run Right Back” as it’s b-side track on November 25, as a part of of Record Store Day’s Black Friday series.  El Camino is set to release December 6, but it’s already available for pre-order.

I feel like I want to live today.
